RATING PRINCIPLES
The Global Boxing Organization rankings are in place to establish eligible contenders to participate in title elimination bouts, interim title bouts, and GBO championship title bouts. Our mission is to create a ranking system that clearly reflects both the skill and potential of future world champions, and to give those fighters an opportunity to fight for their first championship title before moving on to fight for a WBO, WBA, IBF, or WBC world title.
The GBO’s rankings are based upon, but not limited to, the following:

-
A fighter’s amateur career and accomplishments.
-
A fighter’s past/current performance as a professional.
-
Win/loss record, athletic ability, and time/experience in their current weight class or past weight classes.
-
Factors that will cause fighters to continually move upward in the GBO’s ranking system are as follows:
-
Significantly improving upon your craft as a fighter and staying active.
-
Fighting higher class opponents and winning, or giving a clearly competitive challenge to a higher class opponent.
